Bishan Swimming Complex was opened to the public in Dec 1991. Also in the early ninties, many condominiums with private swimming facilities started to mushroomed in many parts of Singapore and reached its peak by 1996, before the bubble burst by the Asian fanancial Crisis in 1997. Bishan pool is sandwiches between Ang Mo Kio Swimming Complex and Toa Payoh Swimming Complex. Bishan Swimming Complex is walking distance to Junction 8 and Bishan MRT station.

The pool was welcomed by many Bishan residents staying there.
