AQZOG Holiday SwimSafer Program at ActiveSG Pools: Preparing Kids for the MOE SwimSafer Program

Build Confidence Before the MOE SwimSafer Term Begins

Learning to swim is an essential life skill in Singapore, where many children are introduced to swimming through the MOE SwimSafer Programme in primary school. However, some students may feel unprepared when their school lessons begin, especially if they have little prior experience in the water.

To support young swimmers and help them gain confidence before their school lessons start, AQZOG is hosting a series of Holiday SwimSafer Programs at ActiveSG pools throughout the year.

Our 3-Day Holiday SwimSafer Program in March, as well as the 6-Day Intensive Holiday SwimSafer Programs during the June and Year-End school holidays, are designed to help children build the foundational skills needed before they are enlisted in their respective MOE SwimSafer programs.

These structured holiday courses provide a valuable head start for students, allowing them to develop water confidence, learn essential survival skills, and become familiar with the skills required in the SwimSafer framework.

Why Prepare Early for the MOE SwimSafer Program?

Many parents assume that children can simply learn everything during the school SwimSafer program. While this is possible, the reality is that students who already possess basic swimming skills tend to benefit more from the school program.

Preparing early offers several advantages:

1. Build Water Confidence

Children who are unfamiliar with water may feel nervous during their school lessons. Holiday preparation classes help them become comfortable with water before the official lessons begin.

2. Learn Essential Survival Skills

The SwimSafer program emphasizes water survival and safety skills, such as floating, treading water, and safe entry into the pool. These skills are easier to master when children receive focused attention in a small group environment.

3. Improve Learning Progress

When children already know the basics such as breathing control, kicking, and floating, they can progress more smoothly during their MOE lessons.

4. Reduce Anxiety During School Lessons

Students who are prepared are more confident and less anxious when they attend their school SwimSafer sessions.

5. Support Water Safety Awareness

Beyond swimming techniques, children also learn important water safety concepts that can help prevent accidents.

AQZOG Holiday SwimSafer Program Schedule

AQZOG organizes multiple SwimSafer holiday courses each year so families can choose the program that best suits their child’s schedule.

March School Holiday

3-Day SwimSafer Preparatory Program

This short program introduces children to basic swimming and survival skills in a structured and supportive environment. It is ideal for beginners or students who want a quick refresher before their school program.

June School Holiday

6-Day Intensive SwimSafer Program

This longer program allows students to practise consistently and improve their skills over several days. It is suitable for children aiming to build stronger fundamentals before their MOE SwimSafer lessons.

Year-End School Holiday

6-Day Intensive SwimSafer Program

The year-end course provides another opportunity for children to prepare early for the upcoming school year’s SwimSafer program.

ActiveSG Pool Locations

To make our program accessible to families across Singapore, AQZOG will be hosting sessions at several ActiveSG swimming complexes:

  • Teck Ghee Swimming Complex
  • Punggol Swimming Complex (Year 2027)
  • Clementi Swimming Complex

Benefits of Learning in a Holiday Program

Holiday programs provide several advantages compared to regular weekly lessons.

Consistent Practice

Learning over consecutive days allows children to practise skills repeatedly and retain them more effectively.

Focused Learning Environment

Small group classes allow coaches to provide more individual attention to each student.

Faster Skill Development

Children can build momentum when they practise daily during the holiday period.

Positive Learning Experience

Holiday programs are designed to be fun and engaging, helping children enjoy the learning process.

A Supportive Learning Environment with AQZOG

AQZOG is committed to providing a safe and encouraging environment where children can develop swimming skills confidently.

Our coaches emphasize:

  • Safety first approach
  • Step-by-step skill progression
  • Encouragement and positive reinforcement
  • Building confidence through gradual learning

This supportive environment helps children develop both technical skills and water confidence, which are essential for success in the SwimSafer program.

Preparing for the Future

Swimming is more than just a sport—it is a life skill that promotes safety, fitness, and confidence. By joining the AQZOG Holiday SwimSafer Program, children can gain the foundational skills they need before participating in their school’s SwimSafer program.

With training at ActiveSG pools across Singapore, this preparatory program offers a convenient and effective way for students to build confidence and readiness before their MOE SwimSafer term begins.

Parents who want their children to start their SwimSafer journey with confidence may consider enrolling them in one of AQZOG’s holiday programs.
